SAVOY & Heather Bright – We Are The Sun (incl. SAVOY Remix)

Brooklyn based production trio SAVOY have been all over the board in 2012, releasing an onslaught of various electro, house, and dubstep creations. After first hearing their remix of Chromeo’s “When The Night Falls,” we were impressed to say the least. No matter what genre they are messing with, these guys truly know how to gear a track for any party. Their newest single “We Are The Sun” was released on the infamous Spinnin’ Records and features enchanting vocals from the up and coming Heather Bright. The original is a groovy electro house tune, utilizing organ-type synths and a distinct lead that resembles Wolfgang Gartner’s “Illmerica.” Also included in the package is a massive dubstep remix from SAVOY themselves, which in our opinion stole the spotlight. Take a listen for yourself.

Comic Strips – Thrill Ride EP

Comic Strips‘ Tom Holroyd is a talented 20 year old producer from Pittsburgh, PA. With an impressive collection of originals and remixes, Tom shows tremendous versatility with genres. Want to see for yourself? Just check out his SoundCloud. He recently completed work on a FREE 2 track EP that he called Thrill Ride. The title track “Thrill Ride” (our favorite of the two) gives Knife Party and Dillon Francis a run for their money with all of its 110 BPM goodness. Edgy breaks and a wide assortment of heavy bass leaves the listener saying HOLY SHIT! We think you’ll agree.

Morten Breum – Larva (Original Mix)

Since the age of 14, Morten Bruem has had DJing deeply embedded within his roots. Today, he is without question the biggest name in Scandinavian talent, even earning sponsorships with giants like Pepsi and Red Bull. The Danish producer, who we had the pleasure of seeing locally a few days ago, has big plans for 2012. His latest work “Larva” was just released via disco:wax, and we love it. As his popularity grows, so does his knack for anthemic productions. Though seemingly simple at the foundation, “Larva” proves to be more than effective, using large progressive synths and melodies to its advantage. Turn up the volume.

Matrix & Futurebound – All I Know (feat. Luke Bingham) (Seven Lions Remix)

From the crunchy, distorted sounds of Candyland to the blissful, melodic vibes of Seven Lions, it would certainly seem that Santa Barbara knows their dubstep. A town full of young and energetic kids is a fitting place to house some of the most talented up and comers in this dynamic and fast-paced genre. We must admit, Seven Lions’ new Polarize EP has been blaring through our speakers for the last few days. Repeatedly. His style of dubstep exhibits our favorite theorem for the genre; heavy, yet soothing. Recently, Jeff undertook the job of remixing “All I Know” from UK drum ‘n bass gurus, Matrix & Futurebound. Not an ounce of detail goes overlooked when it comes to Jeff’s productions and we’re happy to support him.

Moguai – Lyme (Moguai’s Crushed Lyme Mix)

Its been awhile since we’ve seen a side of the old Moguai. His last mau5trap single “Mpire” was intricate, featuring a solid electro bassline and glitchy twists one would expect from Wolfgang Gartner. However, “Lyme” (taken from his Mpire album) is admittedly more up our alley, especially this newly released edit. Blissful chords, longer builds, and heavier drops differentiate it from the original, demonstrating the German producer’s dexterity and cunning ability to deliver. Moguai can only be referred to as a genius, we just wish more people would speak up about it.

PREVIEW: Denzal Park – Amarok (Original Mix)

Following the release of their “Ray Of Love” remix, Paul and Kam bring us the official preview for their next single “Amarok,” set to be released via Neon Records on June 1st. Like we’ve mentioned in the past, these two are some of the best producers around, and they’re on a quite a roll. Their “Big In Japan” remix was our favorite of the bunch, and their last single “Nammos” earned copious amounts of playtime from Axwell and the rest of SHM. “Amarok,” which starts at 0:30 in the video below, is clean and effective. A bouncy electro drop (similar to Axwell’s “Heart Is King”) gets the party started, while gigantic hands-up synths plastered with plenty of reverb blare loudly, unveiling the track’s true nature. Easily one of our favorites of 2012 from Denzal Park, and they just keep getting better.
