In my opinion, Michael Woods is one of the most highly respected producers out there. Most people who follow the electronic scene closely view him as a legend, and for good reason. Known as the king of the kick drum, the man behind Diffused Records is somehow able to make all of his tracks sound like there is a person jumping out of the speakers, constantly roundhouse kicking you in the face. His newest track “Fruitcake” follows the standard Michael Woods checklist: piercing kick drum, melodic chords, long builds, and a skanky drop. It is featured on the Ibiza 2011 Volume 1 compilation, which is a 40 track assembly of massive tunes, released on the infamous Toolroom Records. Grab the whole compilation on Beatport.
