REVIEW: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike @ Voyeur – 1/19/12

This past Thursday, the house music duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike played an eccentric set at Voyeur in San Diego. As the sounds of the ever so popular LED resident TJR faded out, the two took their place behind the decks for a two hour set, jam packed with bangers and tunes that’d make you cut a rug. Read the full review after the jump!

Like Mike led the crowd on the mic during their remix of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Otherside” and had the crowd singing along, right before they dropped the breakdown, sending the crowd into a ball of happy energy. Having worked with huge name producers like Afrojack and Tiësto, this duo is used to energetic crowds with a liking to their big room sound. As their set went on, they cue’d in other hits like Awooga and Feel So Close by British producer, Calvin Harris. They also dropped one of our favorite artist, Clockwork’s, remix of Levels.

The guys truly got the crowd going by playing their Tomorrowland anthem Tomorrow, which features Afrojack and Nervo. They also threw in the crowd favorite Maximal Crazy by Tiësto. Their jam packed, hour and half set had the crowd wanting more as the lights turned on at 1:30am, which solidified a successful night.  It was definitely an evening to remember as the duo took the decks with tremendous energy that had the dance floor moving all night.

This night at Voyeur is another example of how LED Presents is taking over the music scene in San Diego. LED continues to bring in talent from all over the world, as today they released the full lineup for their anniversary party on February 19th, which will include Dirty South, Knife Party, Bingo Players, Tommy Trash, Nicky Romero and Kill the Noise. You can bet that the Raw Goodage team will be there covering this killer show, which is at the San Diego Valley View Casino Center (formally the S.D. Sports Arena). LED & Voyeur continue to prove themselves as an empire in the EDM scene in southern California and every event they do is top notch! Besides the Anniversary party on the 19th, LED boasts acts like Alex Kenji, Adrian Lux, Designer Drugs, Tommy Trash, 12th Planet, and Benga in the upcoming weeks.

Stay tuned for our full review of their show at Playhouse Hollywood that took place the following evening, complete with an interview and tons of pictures!
