I Love This City – San Diego tickets went on sale a few days ago, starting at $25(tickets are $31 at our time of publication). The festival is on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 27th. While the festival is new, San Diego’s own LED is organizing the event, and they have never disappointed us before. The festival was originally rumored to be at Padre’s Stadium, but is now being held at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Chula Vista. This venue was very well suited for the main stage at Identity Festival last year. With the size of the lineup, it is safe to say they will follow ID festival’s lead and build at least one additional stage in the parking lot.
There are two levels of tickets – General Admission and Pit. General Admission starts at $25 and increases in phases until it reaches $56. Pit tickets are $81. All tickets include parking. The Pit tickets will feel the most like a traditional festival, but it can also be a nice change of pace to see at show from a chair. The slope of the amphitheater allows everyone a great view of the stage, even from the grass field behind the seats. At ID Festival, the side stages were all general admission. If you plan on going, it is worth mentioning that the venue is on the other side of the freeway from where your Iphone will mark it. It is necessary to search for the address and not the venue name. Also, if you need to get home in a reasonable amount of time you might want to think about heading out a few minutes early. See you there!
