If you listen regularly to Morgan Page‘s podcast, you recently heard about the thorough and lengthy screening process he makes vocalists endure before agreeing to work with them. The process clearly works, as he regularly finds diamonds in the rough. This time, said diamond comes in the form of Meiko. The American-born indie vocalist’s sound is simultaneously sexy and sad, which turns out to be quite an alluring combination in “Leave the Lights On.” Morgan adds some flavor as he transitions from the soothing and melodic portion of the track into a hard electro drop. He has been tearing it up, between his recent “In the Air” release and excellent set at Coachella’s first weekend. If you’re going Week 2, be sure to catch his set. The original is available on iTunes and the remix is slated for a May 15 release.
On another note, Page deserves a shout out for his podcast. It’s consistently an incredibly well-mixed podcast with excellent track selection. Subscribe to his podcast, also named “In the Air,” if you don’t already.
