If you haven’t already heard of him before, Chrome Sparks is the solo production moniker of Jeremy Malvin. He grew up in Pittsburg and later moved to Ann Arbor to study percussion, where he produces tracks whenever he isn’t playing drums for the Michigan-based group Stepdad. Jeremy has been around for years now, but he really swept me off my feet after releasing his bubbly, lush original “Marijuana” which he rightfully deemed “420 Music.” A few hours ago, Pitchfork premiered “Send The Pain On,” a brand new original from Chrome Sparks that ironically isn’t painful to listen to at all. A slow introduction with faint arpeggios pave the way to an epic and uplifting symphony of powerful, atmospheric tones. “Send The Pain On” will be featured on an upcoming EP, set for release sometime this Winter.
