The idea of UK producer Joshua Steele, aka Flux Pavillion, being paired with rappers doesn’t seem far-fetched, especially after hearing Kanye West and Jay-Z over “I Can’t Stop.” After a few conversations on Twitter, Flux and Los Angeles rapper Childish Gambino decided to get together and go with the flow. Interestingly, if you didn’t already know, Childish was originally discovered after working with comedy groups on YouTube and was also a writer for the hit show 30 Rock. Their collaboration “Do or Die” was debuted back at Electric Zoo, but we weren’t able to really listen to the track until now due to poor rip quality. This version, though still a rip from the MTV Music Experiment in Santa Monica, is much more listenable. The verses with Childish sound very melodic, and the drop is very characteristic of Flux Pavillion’s signature stylings. “Do or Die” will be released along with 7 other tracks on Flux’s upcoming Blow The Roof EP, set for release on January 28.
